ERPNext - Quickfile replaces Plaid in ERPNext Bank Sync

Plaid are removing their free access to your own bank transactions, so we've done an extensive search to find a replacement in the UK... and found Quickfile!

If you use Plaid with ERPNext you should have received the email below explaining their decision to remove their free Development access to your own bank transactions.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Changes to our Development environment
Plaid will stop supporting its Development test environment by July 2024. If you have unused items in the Development environment, you'll be provided with some credits to test in our Production environment in a limited capacity.
No action is required of you at this time.
What's changing in 2024?
We're working to provide developers and businesses with a simpler and more intuitive testing experience with Plaid's products. As part of our work, we'll be deprecating the Development test environment and introducing limited, free testing in our Production environment.
You can continue to test in the Development environment until we remove all existing Development items on June 20, 2024.
Please share this information with your technical team, and stay tuned for more updates when we're ready for you to begin testing in Production.

This poses a problem for Bank Transaction sync in ERPNext because the only Bank Sync integration historically available in ERPNext is Plaid.

We did an extensive search for a replacement banking integration provider here in the UK, including Plaid, Yapily, Token.io, TrueLayer, Bud and Tink but they all require huge monthly fees, ranging from £1500 to £3500 per month, because they prefer to deal with a single middle-man that then deals with clients rather than deal directly with end users.

That was until we found Quickfile.co.uk.

Quickfile

Quickfile is a low-cost simple cloud accounting package aimed at small UK businesses. They have an automated banking integration as an add-on to their account which only costs £15+vat per year, and they also have an API. So we quickly put together an integration that allows you to download your bank transactions in the same way as Plaid.

Quickfile's bank coverage is fairly good but the best thing is you can trial an account with them including their bank feeds for free for 14 days.

So maybe you've never connected your bank to ERPNext or are fed up of importing your statements manually on a daily or weekly basis. Here's your chance to automate it.

Get in touch if you would like to use our connector; you can read more about it here. You will find it listed in Quickfile's marketplace and soon on frappe cloud.
